Preliminary Task
In the preliminary task, we had to show shot-reverse shot, match on action and use over-the-shoulder shots to shot that we are knowledgeable on different types of shots and angles. We worked in a group of five with two people from a different group. When trying to portray the 180 degree rule, our teacher made us aware that we had broken the rule as we had crossed opposite sides when filming and didn't stick to one. This enabled us to realise that we will need to be careful for when we film in the future so that the same mistake doesn't occur. Overall, we had to film three times and the last filming session had the best outcome. Having done it three times showed that we needed to be organised when filming if we wanted to get the best outcome possible so this prepared us for when we film our opening sequence to out thriller production. Overall, I felt that this preliminary task was quite successful but to ensure that it doesn't contain any mistakes is to make ourselves aware of any rules like the 180 degree rule so that the filming and outcome are of a high quality.
